Orangeville, ON - May 27, 2024 - Rising star in Canadian motorsports, Eric Kunz, is set to showcase his race car at the Blues Cruise on Broadway on Friday, May 31, 2024. The Blues Cruise is anticipating 350 cars this year and is one of the highlights of the annual Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday.

Kunz, an Orangeville native, competes in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin (SCCC) and recently won Race 1 and 2 in the TCA Class at the Victoria Day Speedfest held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, thrilling an audience of 50,000 enthusiastic motorsport fans. The SCCC, organized by FEL Motorsports, represents the pinnacle of sports car racing in Canada, closely aligning with the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series in the United States.

David Murphy, the organizer of the Blues Cruise, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m really proud of Eric and it is awesome knowing that someone local is doing so well in the Sports Car Championship Canada series.”

In addition to his racing career, Eric is a SickKids Patient Ambassador, Rare Disease advocate/patient, and founder of Driven Living. Driven Living is an Orangeville-based not-for-profit organization that uses motorsport's popularity to raise awareness of rare diseases and funds for treatment, care, and research, aiming to inspire and connect individuals impacted by rare diseases, which affect 1 in 12 Canadians. Through Driven Living, Eric raises funds for SickKids to help better support rare disease patients. One hundred percent of the funds raised for SickKids goes directly to the hospital foundation.

Eric Kunz will have his race car proudly displayed in front of CSN Leggett's Collision Service, located at 51 Broadway. JP Venditti, owner of CSN Leggett's, is one of Eric's sponsors this season. Eric shared his excitement about the event, stating, "I'm really excited about representing CSN Leggett's Collision Service at this year's Blues Cruise on Broadway. CSN Leggett's and JP were a huge support for my SickKids fundraising drive in 2023 and have been amazing to work with as a sponsor this season."

Eric's race car, the Honda Civic Si Coupe 10th Gen, features a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 210 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. It boasts front-wheel drive, a 6-speed manual transmission, and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h. The car was manufactured in Alliston, Ontario, and then modified for closed-circuit racing by a US-based Honda Racing partner. It is homologated for and eligible to run in the TCA Class in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin and SRO TC America.

In addition to showcasing his race car, Eric will be hosting a special prize draw on behalf of CSN Leggett's Collision Service. The prize is a pair of gold grandstand tickets to the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto. Entry to the contest is free, and participants are encouraged to make a donation to SickKids if they wish. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying a chance to win an exciting prize.
